Cleaner and more environmentally friendly metal processing in India

The ACIDLOOP project aimed at creating the conditions for a cleaner and more environmentally friendly metal processing and finishing in the Indian cities of Delhi, Ludhiana, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Madurai. In particular, the project was about improving acid recovery in the metal processing and finishing sector and reducing the resource input for these processes.

In the course of the project, Indian SMEs from the metal finishing industry were exposed to new technology options and pilot plants for acid recovery. SMEs were trained in the ECOPROFIT approach which can significantly reduce resource use.

As part of the project, adelphi particularly fostered the dialogue process between different stakeholders in order to improve the political conditions for acid recovery and to open up funding opportunities for SMEs.
